In recent years, Huawei has gone from being a virtually unknown Chinese manufacturer to placing itself among the top brand’s thanks to smartphones as complete as the Huawei Mate 9 or the latest Huawei P10.
But not everything in the Huawei catalog is high-end, there is also room for simpler terminals like the Y series that has just been renewed.
The Huawei Y5 2017 is the new entry-level smartphone that Huawei has just officially announced.
The device arrives just a year after we knew the Huawei Y5 II and improves key points like memory, but do not go ahead. We tell you all about the new Huawei Y5 2017.
Simplicity in a manageable design
As we said, the
Huawei Y5 2017 improves some points compared to the previous model, but the screen is not one of them. Here Huawei opts for the same 5-inch panel with HD resolution, a suitable configuration to a computer of this level that maintains a quite manageable size.
Its design is emphasized by the ribbed rear shell that facilitates the grip and will be available in gold, pink, blue and gray. At the rear is the main camera, which still maintains a resolution of 8 megapixels, while the front camera is left with 5 megapixels.
A characteristic detail of this model is that, in addition to the physical volume and ignition buttons, the right side integrates an additional button that Huawei baptizes as ‘Easy Key’.
This button can be configured to perform different actions like opening an app or taking a photo, depending on whether you press once, twice or if you press it.
Improved hardware and outdated software
Huawei once again relies on a Mediatek brand chip for its Y-line. In this case, it is a Mediatek MT6737 quad-core that runs at 1.4 GHz clock frequency and is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM, double what We were in last year’s model.
The internal capacity also doubles up to 16 GB and can be extended with MicroSD cards up to an additional 128 GB. It also highlights the integration of a battery of 3.000 mAh, capacity that according to Huawei offers a day and a half of autonomy.
The software puts the discordant note and is that although more than half a year after the arrival of Android Nougat, this Huawei Y5 2017 comes out with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the interface EMUI 4.1, certainly the weakest point of all Technical profile.
Huawei Y5 2017, price and availability
For now, Huawei has just announced the features of the new Huawei Y5 2017 without specifying the date of arrival to the stores or their final price.
However, bearing in mind that the previous model can be found for less than 100 euros, we expect its successor to move in a similar figure.
