After months of neglect of Google has once again received a translator for Android update from Mountain View. This includes even a surprisingly useful feature called “Tap to Translate”. In order words to be translated by Overflow – without having the other app exit.
Ahead of the forthcoming developer conference I/O Google has surprisingly already presented a bigger feature for their own translator.
Based on “Now on Tap”, the new feature was simply called “Tap to Translate”.
The name is also quasi-program: The user can namely as soon as a text is marked and is copied to the clipboard, tap which then appears Google Translator icon. Then an overflow window with the corresponding translation within a slimmed down version of the app.
For the “Tap to Translate” feature a new version of Google Translator App is required. The update will be distributed in stages; so it can take a few days until each user gets the new features
Alternatively, as always be performed by APK a manual installation. This function may be necessary to enable the installation of apps from “Unknown Sources” or “Uncertain sources” in the security settings of your smartphone.
