New record in the benchmark: Galaxy S8 pushes iPhone 7 off the throne

The Samsung Galaxy S8 shows itself shortly before the presentation in a further benchmark and presents there a new recorder result.

After the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus in the benchmark of Geekbench has already achieved extremely good results, now follows a brief appearance at AnTuTu.

There the smartphone with the model designation SM-G950 has dived and has reached a new record value of 205.284 points.

It was not until October 2016 that we reported on a mysterious smartphone, which for the first time reached over 200,000 points. It was probably at that time actually the new Galaxy S8 acted.

The high result would certainly match the performance that Samsung and Qualcomm have promised with regard to the new processors Exynos 8895 and Snapdragon 835.

Which processor is exactly, is not mentioned and can not be determined by the missing last letter behind the model designation SM-G950.

The SM-G950U would be the US model with Snapdragon 835, while the SM-G950F would be an EU model with Exynos 8895.

The latter has achieved a slightly higher performance in the Geekbench benchmark.

Thus, the new Samsung Galaxy S8 would exceed the competition and also the previous models significantly. An iPhone 7 (Plus) comes to about 170,000 points and was considered to be the fastest smartphone on the market.

Other smartphones with Android operating system are about 160,000 points or less.

The OnePlus 3t with Snapdragon 821 comes, for example, to 159,647 points, while the Galaxy S7 in our test just reached just under 130,000 points.

Samsung has definitely built an extremely powerful Android smartphone, which reaches peak values in benchmarks. In normal use, however, the differences are hardly noticeable.

The only thing that is important is that the surface is running smoothly, games and apps are loaded quickly and the processor does not consume too much energy.
