Apple officially strikes back against FBI’s court order

Apple has formally filed a motion to vacate a court order demanding it assist the FBI in breaking into a locked iPhone.

In the motion, Apple calls the government’s order “unprecedented,” has no support in the law and unconstitutional.

“Such an order would inflict significant harm – to civil liberties, society, and national security – and would preempt decisions that should be left to the will of the people through laws passed by Congress and signed by the President,” Apple’s motion reads.
