Apple Inc. appointed senior vice president Jeff Williams COO up the giant, the second man in the company after CEO Tim Cook writes WSJ.com.
Williams joined Apple in 1998 and deals with the supply chain and operations but also the development of Apple Watch. In other words, it is one of the most important roles in the company. Williams cover a position that was left vacant after the appointment of Tim Cook as CEO in 2011.
Apple has made three important announcements Thursday adjusting the company’s executive team that has remained relatively stable since 2012, when Scott Forstall and John Browett, who oversaw mobile retail software, respectively, were removed from office. Since then, Cook has brought more people to cover these functions.
