LG G5 benchmarked with Galaxy S7 beating performance

We know without a shadow of a doubt that we’ll be seeing the LG G5 on February 21. We’ve already seen a whole lot of it in an unofficial capacity and now we’re getting a hint at its performance, as the phone has just been benchmarked.

A listing on Geekbench reveals that the LG G5 is packing a Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM. That’s likely to be a standard pairing on this year’s flagships but should make for a big jump on the LG G4’s specs.

The listing also notes that the G5 runs Android 6.0.1 though it’s bound to be overlaid with LG’s own UI, so don’t expect a stock experience.

Flagship power

Not only does the benchmark point to high-end specs, but also impressive performance, as its multi-core score of 5061 beats even the Samsung Galaxy S7, which recently scored 4979 in the same benchmark. Though the LG G5’s single-core score of 2248 is a little lower than the S7’s 2282 score.

Of course, benchmarks don’t always accurately represent real world performance, but this certainly bodes well for the G5, especially as the LG G4 seemed a little underpowered compared to rivals.

With talk of a metal body, a dual-lens camera, a big QHD screen and a fingerprint scanner to the LG G5 is shaping up to be very impressive indeed.
